At South Peninsula Hospital, we know that healing is about more than good medical care. It's also about being in a healing environment, and that includes having loved ones near by, so we try to make family, friends and visitors as comfortable as possible.
You'll find comfortable resting areas all around the hospital, and a quiet room near the acute care nurses station is available when you need a fresh cup of coffee or a moment alone. The serenity garden at the front entrance is a good spot to relax, get fresh air and enjoy the spectacular view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains.
The cafeteria is located on the lower level of the hospital, and is open from 11am-1pm Monday through Friday. The cafeteria serves hot meals, salad bar, and soup and sandwich bar, for dine-in or to-go. Family meals can be ordered for breakfast and dinner through forms found in the patient rooms or by asking any nursing staff. The cafeteria is open 6am-9am for complimentary coffee and teas, and as a quiet place to sit down.
Vending machines are found in the alcove near the front entrance and on the lower level near the cafeteria entrance. Newspaper vending machines are in the vending alcove near the front entrance.
Internet access is available through wireless transmission, so feel free to bring your laptop to stay connected. There are no public computers available at this time.
A courtesy phone is in the front entrance hallway (near the gift shop) and a pay phone is on the lower level outside the cafeteria.
A gift shop is located at the front entrance and is open from 11am-2pm Monday through Friday. Sales can be made off hours through the front desk. The gift shop is a fund raiser for the hospital's Auxiliary.
The Social Worker can be found in the Acute Care Department, and is available to assist your family as the patient transitions through the healthcare network on the road to recovery.
Normally plenty of free parking can be found right outside the main entrance. However, it can fill up quickly on days the hospital runs the Specialty Clinics. Additional parking is found on the lower level at the top of Bartlett Street, just outside the cafeteria and Rehabilitation Department. Overflow parking is just below the new construction area, on the east side of Bartlett.
