This FREE community-wide walking challenge is open to all ages 13 and up and runs from May 1st to May 28th, 2024. Anyone can participate in this fun, healthy challenge by logging their steps using a wearable fitness tracker or smartphone or manually entering them!

Challenge Details:

Teams of 5-25 members will compete for not only the challenge trophy to keep for the year but also $500 to donate to a local nonprofit or charity of their choice! The next two "Runner Up" teams will each be awarded $300 and $200 for the nonprofit or charity of their choice as well.

Team scores are a cumulative average of their members' steps (not a sum).

All individual participants reaching at least a weekly step average of 35,000 steps (that's only around 5,000 steps a day!) will be eligible for the weekly prize drawings AND the end-of-challenge cash prizes!

Three winners in three different steps categories (ranging from 5K a day average steppers to >20K a day average steppers) will win weekly prize drawings for Homer Bucks, AND three winners in each of the three categories will win the prize drawings for $100, $200, and $300 cash prizes at the end of the challenge!

NEW this year- a YOUTH category!

Youth ages 13 to 18 are encouraged to participate, and YES, there will be incentives along the way! Homer bucks will be awarded to top steppers each week, and a grand prize of $500 will be donated to a local school club, sports team, or organization of their choice! More to come on this exciting new addition!
