Homer Steps Up! is an annual community-wide walking challenge made possible thanks to the generous support of the South Peninsula Hospital Foundation and the challenge co-sponsors: City of Homer, South Peninsula Behavioral Health Services, SVT Health & Wellness, South Peninsula Hospital & SPARC. Originally a competition between the founding organizations (South Peninsula Hospital, City of Homer, South Peninsula Behavioral Health Services, and SVT Health & Wellness), Homer Steps Up! grows every year with more teams made up of local businesses, organizations, and groups.

Teams of 5-25 members will compete this year for the Homer Steps Up! trophy (the team with the highest “score” wins, and the scores are an automatically calculated cumulative average of the members steps over the whole challenge).

There are also individual weekly Homer bucks prizes and end-of-challenge cash prizes! INDIVIDUAL PRIZES: All active participants walking at least 5,000 steps a day (or equivalent if converting activities due to injury or ability) have a chance to win: Homer Bucks every week (3 winners, in 3 different steps total categories, AND the amount gets bigger every week!) and one of the three $100, $200, or $300 cash prizes at the end of the challenge!
