    Every first and third Tuesday from 5-7PM at the SPH Training Center at 203 W. Pioneer Ave., anyone in need can safely & confidentially dispose of used needles & obtain clean needles, and access free resources and information including naloxone (overdose) kits, sanitary products, free rapid on-site HIV/AIDS & Hep-C testing and more.

    Additionally, South Peninsula Hospital accepts sharps on the second Wednesday of each month from 1 - 3 p.m. During this time only, sharps will be accepted from the public and only at the loading dock entrance, found on the lower level east side below the main entrance.     Free community yoga continues in April, presented by Erin Brege of Icy Mermaid Yoga. Erin is a certified yoga instructor, local Spanish teacher and global traveler who believes fully in the wellness power of yoga. Free community Yoga is every April in Wednesday from 6-7pm at SPARC, 600 Sterling Highway. All ages and abilities are welcome.     The next upcoming Safe Sitter class at South Peninsula Hospital is on Friday & Saturday,April 7th & 8th from 9am-2:30pm (students must attend both days).

    Safe Sitter is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue and CPR for infants and children!

    Registration is required, please contact SPH Health & Wellness to register by calling (907) 235-0285 or emailing wellness@sphosp.org. The registration fee is $50.00 and scholarships are available upon request. Visit safesitter.org to learn more about the program.
