Join South Peninsula Hospital General Surgeon Greg Hough, MD at SPARC (600 Sterling Hwy next to Homer Middle School) for our next “Walk with a Doc”! All are welcome Saturday, March 2nd from 9:00 am-10:00 am for Dr. Hough's brief talk on colon health and spend the rest of the hour walking at your own pace, chatting & asking any questions. This is a free event, open to all ages and abilities! There is parking up at the SPARC and down below in the Homer Middle School Parking lot. Walk with a Doc is a nationwide walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. What better way to start your weekend than on your feet making strides to help your heart and improving your general health to live longer! While you walk at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to have questions answered by local physicians.
There will be free blood pressure screenings, prizes, and refreshments!
Please bring clean indoor walking shoes.

As a registered Safe Sitter Teaching Site, South Peninsula Hospital offers the 1-day Essentials with CPR Certification for students in grade 6-8 several times throughout the school year and summer. The next scheduled course is Friday, March 8th from 9:00am - 4:30pm. Students will learn safety skills, child care skills including behavior management, first aid skills, choking rescue and CPR for infants and children, as well as important life & business skills.

Monthly Board meetings are generally held every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm in the hospital’s conference room. The public is welcome.
South Peninsula Hospital, Inc. is non-profit organization governed by a nine-member board of directors which ensures the hospital is fiscally sound while maintaining the quality of care and types of services desired by the residents in the Southern Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area.
The board is an all-volunteer board, with members appointed to three-year terms upon completing an interview process by the board’s Membership Committee.
The Board welcomes and encourages community input for the direction of your hospital. Please plan to attend a meeting (public comments are welcomed at the beginning and end of the meeting), or email a message to them at sphbod@sphosp.org.
