Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed for aesthetic consultation. A referral may be required for medically necessary procedures, depending on your insurance plan.

What is the difference between aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery?

Aesthetic (cosmetic) plastic surgery, such as facelifts, rhinoplasty, or body contouring, enhances a patient’s appearance to align with their goals and improve confidence. Reconstructive surgery, such as breast reconstruction or scar revision, restores form and function after trauma, cancer treatment, or congenital conditions. At Renew, we provide both, tailoring care to each patient’s unique needs.

What dermatology care do you provide?

Our dermatology team provides comprehensive skin care for adults and children, including preventive exams, skin cancer screenings, and treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, nail fungus, and more. We also perform biopsies, cryotherapy, in-clinic surgery, and phototherapy. Led by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jenna Aird, we offer expert, evidence-based care for all skin types and conditions.

What should I expect during my initial consultation?

You’ll meet with Dr. Wisecarver or Dr. Aird to discuss your goals and concerns, review medical history, and explore treatment options, including preparation, recovery, and next steps.

Where do procedures take place?

Consultations and minor procedures occur at Renew’s Homer clinic, 205 W. Fairview Avenue. Major surgeries are performed at South Peninsula Hospital’s outpatient surgery department, located at 4300 Bartlett Street, in collaboration with the hospital’s surgical team.

What kind of insurance do you accept?

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Tri-Care, BlueCross, and Denali Kid Care, among others. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify coverage and pre-authorization requirements. Payment plans and prompt-payment discounts are available.

Do you bill insurance?

Yes. Medically necessary procedures are typically covered by insurance and will be billed accordingly. Cosmetic or elective treatments require payment at the time of service. Our staff can help you confirm coverage before your visit.

Do you see patients without insurance?

Yes, we welcome patients without insurance. Please call our office for self-pay pricing information. Discounts and financial assistance may be available for patients who qualify.
