Seaside Womens Care at South Peninsula Hospital brings together the full spectrum of womens health — gynecology, obstetrics, midwifery, newborn care, and behavioral health — under one welcoming roof.

Formerly two trusted practices, West Wing Clinic and South Peninsula Obstetrics & Gynecology, our teams are now united as Seaside Womens Care to provide seamless, comprehensive, integrated care for every stage of life.

Our newly remodeled clinic was designed with patient comfort and privacy in mind. Whether you’re visiting for an annual exam, planning a pregnancy, welcoming a new baby, navigating menopause, or seeking support at any point in between, you will find a team of board-certified OB/GYNs, certified nurse midwives, and behavioral health specialists ready to support your health across every season of life.

Services

Gynecology

Our board-certified OB/GYNs provide comprehensive gynecologic care for women across the lifespan, from routine preventive visits to advanced treatment for complex conditions. We offer annual exams and wellness care, contraception and family planning, fertility and hormonal counseling, and evaluation for abnormal bleeding.

Our providers also manage abnormal Pap smears with procedures such as colposcopy and LEEP, and specialize in minimally invasive options for hysterectomy and endometrial ablation. We diagnose and treat urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, offering both conservative approaches like pessary fittings and surgical correction when appropriate. Additional therapies include PTNS treatment for overactive bladder and a full range of minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Obstetrics

Our obstetrics team, led by our board-certified OB/GYNs, offers complete prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, combining advanced medical expertise with personalized support. We care for a wide range of pregnancies, from routine to medically complex, and offer services such as breech version procedures, cesarean delivery, VBAC consultation, nitrous oxide for labor, and immediate postpartum IUD placement.

Expectant parents can begin their journey with a free first OB visit with a member of our nursing team. These visits are designed to answer early questions, update records, and streamline lab and imaging orders before the first full prenatal appointment.

Birthing Center

Our Family Birthing Center is a warm, private, low-intervention environment designed with comfort and connection in mind. Each labor-delivery-recovery suite includes access to a whirlpool tub for labor comfort, a sleeper sofa for partners or family, and space for siblings with an additional adult present.

Patients receive personal attention from an OB/GYN or midwife and dedicated nursing staff throughout labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. We support 24-hour rooming-in to promote bonding, breastfeeding, and rest, and offer nursery care when extra support is needed. Before going home, families receive newborn education, feeding guidance, and information on community resources and postpartum follow-up.

Midwifery

Our certified nurse midwives provide compassionate, family-centered care, supporting low-intervention births while guiding patients through prenatal visits, labor, and postpartum recovery. Working in close collaboration with our OB/GYN team, our midwives ensure that patients receive the right level of support for their birth preferences and medical needs. They also offer lactation support, newborn guidance, and routine well-woman care.

Newborn Care

Our team aims to provide families with gentle, reassuring support, giving them the confidence and resources they need as they transition home with their new baby.

Immediately after birth, providers complete newborn exams, offer feeding and lactation support, and help parents learn early care basics. Postpartum follow-up appointments are available to address feeding, weight checks, jaundice monitoring, and ongoing concerns.

Behavioral Health

Our integrated behavioral health team supports the emotional, mental, and relational well-being of women at every stage of life. Patients can access counseling, medication management, and care coordination onsite, making it easier to get the support they need without navigating multiple clinics.

Whether you’re experiencing mood changes during pregnancy or postpartum, navigating anxiety, coping with life transitions, or seeking ongoing mental health care, our behavioral health providers work closely with your medical team to offer compassionate, confidential, whole-person care.

Support Between Visits

For help between appointments, our triage nurses are here to support you. During clinic hours, you can speak with a nurse about pregnancy, gynecology, lactation, newborn care, postpartum concerns, or behavioral health needs. Outside of clinic hours, labor and delivery nurses are available by phone for urgent pregnancy or postpartum questions. If you prefer not to call, you can always send us a secure message through MyChart for non-urgent needs.

FAQ

Do I need a referral to be seen at Seaside Women’s Care?

No. You can schedule directly for gynecology, obstetrics, midwifery, and behavioral health services. Your insurance may require a referral for certain services, so we recommend checking your benefits.

What ages do you care for?

Seaside Women’s Care provides care for women and girls across the lifespan. We see patients beginning in adolescence, typically when they need menstrual guidance, contraception counseling, or their first women’s health visit, and continue supporting women through pregnancy, menopause, and into older adulthood. Our team is here to provide compassionate, comprehensive care at every stage of life.

Can I choose my provider?

Yes. You’re welcome to request a specific OB/GYN or certified nurse midwife, and we will schedule with them whenever availability allows.

I think I’m pregnant—what should I do next?

If you think you’re pregnant, the best first step is to give us a call. We’ll help you schedule your free first visit with an OB nurse, where you’ll talk through your health history, ask questions, and make sure you have the labs or imaging you need early on. This visit helps you start your prenatal care right away and makes the most of your first full OB appointment.

Do you offer low-intervention births?

Yes. Our midwifery team specializes in low-intervention births, supported by OB/GYNs who are available for consultation or medical care if needed.

What care do you provide for mothers and babies after birth?

After delivery, Seaside Women’s Care continues to support both you and your baby through the early postpartum period and beyond. Our team provides routine postpartum check-ins, help with recovery, lactation support, mental and emotional health care, contraception counseling, and follow-up visits tailored to your needs. For your baby, we offer newborn care, including feeding support, in close coordination with your pediatric care team.

What behavioral health services do you offer?

Seaside Women’s Care provides in-clinic behavioral health support because mental and emotional well-being are essential to overall health. Our behavioral health team offers counseling, medication management, and care coordination for a wide range of concerns, including pregnancy-related anxiety or depression, postpartum mood changes, stress, grief, relationship challenges, trauma history, and support during major life transitions such as menopause.

What if I have a question between appointments or after hours?

You don’t have to wait for your next visit to get answers. During clinic hours, you can call and speak directly with one of our triage nurses about pregnancy concerns, gynecology questions, lactation support, newborn care, or behavioral health needs. After hours, labor and delivery nurses are available by phone for urgent pregnancy or postpartum concerns. For non-urgent needs, you can also send a message anytime through your MyChart portal, and a nurse or provider will respond as soon as they’re able.
