Supporting the Future Needs of Our Community
South Peninsula Hospital is committed to caring for the people of the Southern Kenai Peninsula—not just today, but for generations to come. As our population grows and healthcare needs evolve, we’ve launched a strategic planning effort to ensure our hospital is positioned to meet the future with strength, sustainability, and compassion.
Grounded in community input and long-term analysis, our plan includes four key phases to address space, services, and infrastructure needs. We’re currently sharing these plans with the public, gathering feedback, and preparing for next steps.
We invite you to learn more, explore the plan documents below, and attend a Community Conversation to ask questions and share your voice.
What’s in the Plan?
Our strategic plan includes four phases:
- UPDATE: Invest in critical infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability and safety.
- MAXIMIZE: Make better use of our existing campus—optimizing layouts and workflows to expand care and improve efficiency.
- GROW: Secure real estate for future expansion, allowing SPH to meet rising demand with onsite services and staff.
- CONSOLIDATE: Relocate and combine key clinics to improve patient experience and reduce operational costs.
Why This Matters
Our facilities are aging. Our region is growing. Demand for services is rising. If we want high-quality care close to home, now is the time to plan and invest.
“77% of community members surveyed believe hospital services need to expand to meet future needs.”
