    In honor of a fabulous pioneer of this program, the needle and syringe exchange is now called “Megan’s Place”. Every first and third Tuesday from 5-7PM at the SPH Training Center at 203 W. Pioneer Ave., anyone in need can confidentially dispose of used needles & obtain clean needles, and access free resources & information including naloxone (overdose) kits, sanitary products, referrals for free HIV and Hepatitis C testing, fresh cookies, and MORE! Safe, confidential FREE community resource run by a great team of discreet, helpful and trained volunteers.

    South Peninsula Hospital will accept sharps on the second Wednesday of each month from 1 – 3 p.m. During this time only, sharps will be accepted from the public and only at the loading dock entrance, found on the lower level east side below the main entrance.

    NOTE: There will be a combined Nov/Dec Meeting on Wednesday, December 7th at 5:30pm.

    Monthly Board meetings are generally held every fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm. The public is welcome to attend the meetings virtually.

    Meeting agendas, minutes and packets can be found here. Packets are generally posted to the website on the Monday prior to the Board meetings.

    South Peninsula Hospital, Inc. is non-profit organization governed by an 11-member board of directors which ensures the hospital is fiscally sound while maintaining the quality of care and types of services desired by the residents in the Southern Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area.

    The board members are appointed to three-year terms upon completing an interview process by the board's Membership Committee.

    The Board welcomes and encourages community input for the direction of your hospital. Please plan to attend a meeting (public comments are welcomed at the beginning and end of the meeting), or email a message to them at sphbod@sphosp.org.

    Join SPH Health & Wellness at SPARC each Wednesday evening in December (December 7th, 14th, 21st & 28t) from 6-7pm for an hour of FREE community yoga with instructor Lisa Nordstrom!

    All ages & abilities are welcome to any or all of these drop-in classes. We will have extra yoga mats, but please bring your own if you have them. Also recommended to bring: warm layers and a water bottle.

    Lisa is a 26 year Special Education Teacher in the Russian Old Believer Village of Voznesenka. She is a newly certified 200 hour Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor and "Mindful Motor Movements" is her thing- slow and steady. Her classes will work on breathing, calming, soothing movements to enhance our every day lifestyles.
