South Peninsula Hospital Monthly Board of Directors Meeting

    April 24, 2019

Monthly Board meetings are generally held every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm in the hospital’s conference room. The public is welcome.

South Peninsula Hospital, Inc. is non-profit organization governed by a nine-member board of directors which ensures the hospital is fiscally sound while maintaining the quality of care and types of services desired by the residents in the Southern Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area.

The board is an all-volunteer board, with members appointed to three-year terms upon completing an interview process by the board’s Membership Committee.

The Board welcomes and encourages community input for the direction of your hospital. Please plan to attend a meeting (public comments are welcomed at the beginning and end of the meeting), or email a message to them at sphbod@sphosp.org.

2019 Safe and Healthy Kids Fair

    April 27, 2019

The 2019 Safe and Healthy Kids Fair will be Saturday, April 27 from 10am-2pm in the Homer High School commons. This is a free, fun event for children of all ages to focus on safety, health and wellness. The fair offers more than 30 booths and stations with hands on activities, demonstrations & giveaways.

The annual bike rodeo will also take place in the school parking lot from 10am-1:00pm. Kids can bring their bicycles for a free inspection to get ready for safe summer fun. Helmets are required, and are available for purchase on site.  The Homer Police Department also offers free test rides on the impaired driving simulator ATV cart throughout the day in the parking lot.

This year’s theme is "Be safe, do good, pass it on" - there will be donations accepted at the fair for local organizations in need, as well as information about volunteer opportunities throughout the community!

Food will be available for purchase. Proceeds from food sales benefit the Safe and Healthy Kids Coalition, a group of local agencies supporting the health and wellbeing of our community from the ground UP.
