    Every first and third Tuesday from 5-7PM at the SPH Training Center at t 4014 Lake Street, Suite 101, anyone in need can safely & confidentially dispose of used needles & obtain clean needles, and access free resources and information including naloxone (overdose) kits, sanitary products, free rapid on-site HIV/AIDS & Hep-C testing and more.

    Additionally, South Peninsula Hospital accepts sharps on the second Wednesday of each month from 1 - 3 p.m. During this time only, sharps will be accepted from the public and only at the loading dock entrance, found on the lower level east side below the main entrance.     Join South Peninsula Hospital's Health and Wellness for Wellness Wednesday on February from 5:00-7:00pm at Kachemak Bay Campus, Homer.

    This Wellness Wednesday, February 7th at Kachemak Bay College from 5-7 pm, we're joining Vicki Jackson, Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Serene Waters Mental Health Clinic in learning all about stress management! Learn about different types of stress, the bodies response to stress, tools for coping with stress, and more.

    After the presentation, stay for Five Elements Yoga with Joolee Aurant. Five Elements yoga is a magical type of yoga that can be easily customized from very gentle and meditative, to a warming workout…suitable for absolutely everyone.

    We'll also have hot soup and delicious bread! This is a FREE event; everyone is welcome. Come for a part or stay for all.

    Join us for an evening with Donna Duncan, LCSW and Clinical Director at South Peninsula Behavioral Healthy Services. She will discuss strategies for transforming conflict to connection. A great skill to have in any relationship.
    Yoga this month is led by Joolee Aurand. Joolee has taught Restorative, Acro, AcroFit, Sampoorna, Vinyasa and Five Elements yoga classes from Antarctica to Puerto Rico to Alaska and Pennsylvania.
    The focus for this evening's acro yoga is "Therapeutic Flying." It's accessible to all, and a lovely way to commune with others.

    Join us this evening for a talk with Carrie Warren, FNP. She will discuss stress and how it affect obesity. Chronic exposure to physical or mental stress can release hormones that affect our hunger and satiety ques, elevate some hormones that directly affect metabolism and fat production which lead to wide spread inflammation at a cellular level. Learn ways to identify if you are stressed and how to decrease your stress.

    Monthly Board meetings are generally held every fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm.  The public is welcome to attend the meetings virtually and in person in the hospital's conference rooms (located on the lower level - please use the Bartlett Street entrance).

    South Peninsula Hospital, Inc. is non-profit organization governed by an 11-member board of directors which ensures the hospital is fiscally sound while maintaining the quality of care and types of services desired by the residents in the Southern Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area.

    The board members are appointed to three-year terms upon completing an interview process by the board's Membership Committee.
